New Buffalo Farmers Market Rules and Regulations 2026 Market Season

If you do not follow any listed rules 3x, the market has the right to remove you from the market – market must give you a verbal warning

All vendors must have fabric tablecloths that cover table fully and down the legs of table.

No set up before NOON. The market manager will be prepping the road and marking spots from 11:30 to 12:00 and you may not enter the space until they are done. That gives 2 hours for set up.

Vendors must be set up and ready for business by 2 pm EST. Car out of the market area by 1:45. IF you arrive after 1:45 you must unload from another location and carry in your items.

Market Manager will stay present at the market for take down for one hour. Anything past an hour tear down please make sure you are pulled over in a parking space and all your items are on the sidewalk or as close as possible so you are not in danger of traffic when roads are opened up. Traffic is lower at this time, but still be aware of road traffic.

Parking your personal vehicle shall be in designated areas away from prime customer parking

Market runs 2-5 pm. No early tear down. Doing so 3x will remove you from market. No refunds.

The market is RAIN OR SHINE. This means we will always set up. This is a change from previous years. You may call off a market due to weather but your Vendor fee is nonrefundable. Market manager will be present at every market, so vendors who wish to be there can always sell. IF we have rain (heavy downpour, thunder, lightning)/inclement weather at the start of a market we will wait until it clears to set up. We will still set up in light rain showers.

In case of heavy rain storm during a market, vendors are encouraged to lower tents down to lowest setting to protect goods and keep tent from flying away. If you’re product is perishable in rain you may be able to tear down early with market manager approval.

If a Vendor needs to cancel, they must do so 24 hrs. before the market. IF they do not, they will be charged the booth fee.

Vendor Booth Fees are non-refundable

Vendors are responsible for having on hand required state or county health permits or certifications

Vendors must always bring a proper tent (10x10) for their display and appropriate tent weights – at least 25lbs each and 4 of them. We get heavy winds off the lake so good weights and a sturdy tent are a must. Secure weights with ropes, straps, etc.

We are aiming for a producer only market here – All products should be produced or grown or made by YOU. If not, they need to be listed on your application and approved by market manager. If any are brought during the season they need to be ok’d by market manager and have proper labelling of where they are coming from. Resale items must also not account for more than 1/3 of items at vendors booth.

No products labeled organic unless certified

Vendors are allowed to make sales at their discretion before or after market hours

Vendors must clean up personal booth space after market

Use appropriate language at the market

No Smoking / Vaping in market area

No Hawking at customers

All scales must be in accordance with weights and measures of Michigan
